Within the first 2 hours of meeting Guido, he had invited us to a
beautiful hideaway, for the xmas holidays. I immediately liked this
guy! Jose Ignacio is a wonderful beach town in Uruguay, a nice escape
from the hustle and bustle of the more frequented holiday destination,
Punta del Este.
We took the Buquebus ferry into Uruguay, the day b4
xmas eve, and drove in Guido’s 1958 Chevy Impala (so cool!) to a quaint
thatched roof house in Jose Ignacio.
Walking 2 blocks from our new home, a
marvelous beach front restaurant, La Huella, appears. We became fast
fixtures at the restaurant, relishing every meal we had there,
especially the grilled fish! We arrived b4 the holiday rush, giving us
the opportunity to enjoy Jose Ignacio without all of the crowds that would soon
appear.
The weather was a mix of sun and rain, but our spirits were
never dampened, as we lazily passed the days and nights with music,
wine, food, beach, and of course, dancing!
